The Classic Romantic Date
The most common classic first date move is dinner and a movie. So, let’s do that at home for much cheaper! It can be both a romantic date and
Outdoors Date
If you are the outdoorsy type, you could do an outdoor adventure at home! Have a bonfire in the backyard, and cook your meal over the bonfire. Even if it’s cold, you can snuggle up under some blankets and watch the stars. I’m a Midwesterner, so I just sat out at a bonfire when wind chills were -30, so cold is no excuse! Watching those starts is a great romantic date idea.
Active Date
If you’re more active people, you could take a walk or a hike at a local park. Or bike, or run, or whatever you’d like. Bring some hot chocolate, blankets, and a picnic basket for a romantic picnic in the park.
Artsy Date
If you’re artsier, you could create your own art night at home. Make homemade cards for each other for free. Then, you could find some local art that’s free. When you get home, you could do a puzzle. Or, you could try to draw each other, or make your own art contest! Pick a scene and see who can create it best. This is a really fun one!
Foodie Date
If you love food, then cooking or baking is just for you. Create dinner at home, the fancier the better! If you’re a baker, then bake cookies or cupcakes together and have a blast decorating them. It’s like Christmas! Christmas has always been a time for family, so this can bring back that romantic feeling in your date.
Friends Date
Some of us don’t like the romantic aspect of Valentine’s Day, or we just really love people. So, have a potluck and spend time with friends! Invite your friends over for a game night. This isn’t exactly romantic, but it might be more your speed.
Lazy Date
If you’re lazy like me, then breakfast or dinner in bed it is! Spend the day (or night) watching a movie or binge-watch a show. You could also read to each other, or just lay together reading.
Volunteer Date
If you are more the helper type, then you could spend time helping others together. Pet animals at the local shelter, or volunteer your time together. Many places need help in the winter, and lose volunteers after the Christmas “season of giving”. Going out into your community will give you all the feel-good you need to draw you closer to your partner.
